The Lab Parents’ Association Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee is a group of parent volunteers who love Lab and its community. We work to support the school and hold it accountable to its commitments to equity, diversity, and inclusion by strengthening the relationships among all of Lab’s stakeholders.
The DEI Committee for 2026-27 includes Nancy Bonges, Jennifer Davis, Matt Harris, Aaron Jakes, Rob Kostas, Melanie Marshall. We can be reached at padeiatlab@gmail.com.
Nancy Bonges lives in East Lakeview and is the parent of two Labbies: Mila-2nd and Eli-N4. Nancy is a leader in the corporate philanthropy and social responsibility space and enjoys partnering with social impact organizations.
Jennifer Davis lives in Flossmoor and is the parent of two Labbies: Margaret-2nd and Christopher John-N4. Jennifer enjoys giving tours of ESH to prospective families through the Admission Office and volunteering for field trips. She has been teaching in the English Department at the College of Lake County for 15 years.
Matt Harris is Assistant Professor of Religions in the Americas at the University of Chicago Divinity School. His research and writing centers on African American religious cultures and the entanglement of race and religion in the Americas. He and his partner Sarah have a second grader at Lab.
After relaunching in the fall of 2015, the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee, then co-chaired by Amanda Lewis and Beth Richie (2015-2022), solicited parent input and worked with subcommittees throughout the winter to prepare a complete list of recommendations. The document, Diversity & Inclusion Recommendations, is a streamlined compilation of parent discussions and ideas.
