Welcome to the 2025-2026 School Year from your EC Council
Welcome back to all returning families, and a warm welcome to the new families! We hope you have been enjoying the summer with friends and family.
Our names are Crystal Knox, Helen Timothy, Shanele Vaughn, and Angela Whittington. We are the 2025-2026 members of the Early Childhood (EC) Council of the Parents’ Association. On behalf of the Parents’ Association, we want to thank you for joining our community and for the contributions you and your children make to our school community.
We are excited for all that the new school year brings and are dedicated to building an amazing EC community. The EC Council is committed to being a resource for all parents, so please feel free to contact us with any questions, concerns, or feedback.
Over the summer, the PA has been busy planning various events, speakers, and school programs that will take place throughout the upcoming academic year. We hope you will join us for these events. All events will be announced in the bi-weekly Enews, and can be found on the ESH Division page on the PA website. If you are a new family and are interested in being paired with a mentor family, please sign up here.
Of course, none of this would be possible without volunteer support! There is always a volunteer opportunity that fits your schedule and interest. Find out ways to get involved at Lab at the upcoming Volunteer Engagement Fair on Friday, September 5, 8-10 a.m. in the Main Lobby of Earl Shapiro Hall. Lab ARD, and other PA parents groups that support the school, its mission, and our students, teachers, and staff, will be there to share more. Volunteering is a wonderful way to make new friends, support your community, and learn more about Lab. Thank you in advance for volunteering and supporting our community!
One unique opportunity to give back and be more involved in your Labbie’s class is to volunteer as a room parent. Room parents support the classroom and its teachers throughout the year in a variety of ways (ex: Halloween parties, teacher appreciation coordination, arranging class potlucks and parents’ night outs, etc.) If you’re interested, and when you know your child’s class assignment (coming Monday, August 18), please sign up here.
We look forward to getting to know new families and reconnecting with returning families. Thank you for being part of the EC Community!
Your 2025-2026 EC Council,
Crystal Knox, Helen Timothy, Shanele Vaughn, and Angela Whittington
